TomTom is releasing updated TomTom One and TomTom One XL GPS devices in Europe, according to Pocket-lint. While both PNDs appear to be almost identical to the 2008 models, more advanced software will bring some handy new features to the entry-level devices.
Both the One and One XL will now include IQ Routes which calculates routes and arrival times by using historical traffic data; Advanced Land Guidance which advises drivers what lane they need to be in as they approach intersections and junctions; and MapShare which allows drivers to correct maps and share the updates with the MapShare community.
The TomTom One will still features a 3.5-inch display, while the One XL will have a larger 4.3-inch screen. Neither will have HD Traffic real-time traffic updates, but both will include a three month free trial of gas prices and a speed camera database.
While TomTom hasn’t released pricing or availability information, it is expected both updated GPS devices will launch in Western Europe followed by the United Kingdom.
