Tweetmondo is a service that finds Twitter users near you and plots them on a Google Map. Recently previewed on Mashable’s Spark of Genius series, Tweetmondo is a bit different than some similar applications in that it has real-time and filtering features.
The application has a location precision gauge that tells you how accurate it feels in regard to the location of Twitter users. You can set it as whatever percentage you choose; for example, set it to show you users at a precision level of greater than 75%. You can also filter the results by the number of followers.
The best feature, in my opinion, is Tweetmondo’s ability to direct message you whenever someone new is found nearby. It makes the app simple to use as you don’t have to constantly restart and reuse it to find changes. You can also see and refresh each users status updates and see how long it’s been since that last time they were in your area.
