University of Pennsylvania students relying on the Penn Transit system are a little happier this winter thanks to a fleet-wide GPS tracking system last fall. Students can check the Penn Transit GPS tracking web site to see bus routes and predicted arrival times based on “past performance, speed and traffic conditions,” according to The Daily Pennsylvanian. Furthermore, if students have internet-connected mobile phones, they can check Penn Transit schedules by booting its mobile site. Now if only they did this for public transportation, everywhere.
