Sure, Verizon Wireless has promised to unlock the GPS on select Windows Mobile phones in 2009, but yet another GPS hack has leaked on the web. Looks like Verizon users don’t want to wait and I don’t blame them–the carrier wants its users to rely on VZ Navigator which brings in revenues for the company. The latest hack comes from the forum of PPCGeeks and credit goes to a hacker dubbed IIIboredIII. It’s specific to the HTC Touch Pro and it’s a little on the complicated side, but apparently it does work. It is a beta release so I’d suggest reading though the forum thread carefully before doing anything–you wouldn’t want to destroy your phone.
