Vodafone’s first Google Android mobile phone, the HTC Magic, became available for pre-order yesterday in Europe. You’ll find it on the Vodafone website and it’s actually free after a 2-year contract commitment and £35 ($51) monthly plan. The plan nets users unlimited mobile internet, 600 voice calling minutes, and unlimited text messaging. The phone is expected to ship May 5.
The HTC Magic is the second commercially-released Android handset after the G1, or HTC Dream, last fall. The Magic has a few differences including an onscreen QWERTY keyboard rather than the clunky physical version found on the G1.
