Sony’s XPERIA X1 is available for pre-order at Best Buy for a perfectly reasonable $799.99. I’m sure this is one smartphone that’ll achieve mainstream penetration. C’mon now Sony! For some reason I can’t find GPS mentioned anywhere on Best Buy’s website, though the recent FCC filing claimed assisted GPS. I’ll keep digging, but if you should have the need the shell out 8 bones for an unlocked smartphone, a pre-order will get the XPERIA X1 to your door between November 28 and December 4.
