Clearwire’s new WiMAX network, Clear, is launching in Portland, Oregon January 6, 2009 according to Sidecut Reports. The info was gleamed from an invite the author received from Clearwire and Intel so I’m assuming the information is accurate. Apparently the new network has already been taking customer signups which is smart because industry consensus is that the 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard will eventually win out. The quicker WiMAX gains traction, if it does, in the United States the better. But why AT&T Garmin nuviphone…why?
