Royal Consumer Information Products, better known for its office supplies such as printers and photocopiers than its GPS units, has officially entered the world of navigation with the Royal Expedition GPS portable navigation system. Offering street level maps of the United States and Canada, over 2 million POIs, no monthly fees, and turn-by-turn voice directions, Royal seems to have released a fairly functional GPS unit. It also has a few added perks with a built-in photo viewer, MP3 player, and 2GB of memory. Tailored for any vehicle, the Royal Expedition GPS comes with both dash and windshield mounts, a car charger, and an AC adapter. It’s available from Royal for $399.99.
