TomTom GO 630, TomTom GO 940 LIVE Appear In Berlin

TomTom’s GO 630 and GO 940 LIVE have popped up at the 2008 IFA electronics show in Berlin.  The GO 630, newly introduced at the conference, is an entry level sat-nav similar to the TomTom GO 730 but geared toward the European market with maps of 22 Western European countries.  According to Navigadget, after the European release TomTom will mod the GO 630 for other countries.  The GO 630’s has a couple of sibling PND’s as well.  The GO 630T will include an RDS-TMC real-time traffic receiver, while the GO 630HDT will sport an HD traffic receiver.  Expect the GO 630 to hit European shelves this fall priced at £300, about £50 less than the GO 630HDT.

TomTom’s GO 940 LIVE, which we first told you about a few days back, made an appearance at IFA as well and we’ve learned a few more details about the device.  As you know, the GO 940 LIVE packs in some of TomTom’s more advanced features such as IQ Routes and HD Traffic.  IQ Routes uses historical traffic data to provide route guidance for every road at five minute intervals for every day of the week.  The HD Traffic feature will first be available in the Netherlands, UK, Germany, France and Switzerland and will calculate an alternate route if real-time information differs from IQ Route’s historical data.

Other new specs we’ve found relate to the GO 940 LIVE’s design and hardware.  It features a 480 x 272 pixel WQVGA LCD display measuring 4.3-inches in a 16:9 format, a 400 MHz CPU, 4GB of internal flash memory, an SD card slot, Bluetooth, a lithium-polymer battery that lasts for 5 hours, a 220 gram mass, and dimensions measuring 118 mm x 83 mm x 24 mm.

Okay, take a breath.

We’ve also found out that the GO 940 LIVE’s siblings, the GO 540 and GO 740, have 1GB and 2 GB of internal flash memory respectively.
