Since the days of Plato, the lost city of Atlantis has captivated the imagination of many. The city, if you don’t already know, was said to be a naval power located roughly 600 miles west of the Canary Islands…until it sank. Many believe that Plato derived the myth to illustrate his political ideology, while others-to this day-are firm believers.
So when a British aeronautical engineer found the above while fiddling around in Google Earth 5.0, what do suppose was the first thought to cross his mind? Apparently what looks to be a pattern of roadways is roughly the size of Wales-a fair-sized city.
But now Google is denying it all. It’s not Atlantis, the company says. It’s simply an artifact created by the boat collecting data by bouncing sonar waves off of the ocean floor. That’s just the path of the boat, says Google.
Bullshit! This is just a big cover-up. Atlantis has been found!! All kidding, or not, aside, you can find the odd presence yourself at 31 15′15.53N, 24 15′30.53W in Google Earth 5.0.
